If you love hiking, you sure know that it's so much better to tour the country when you have done your preparation and have your equipment together. Technology became such a big part of the experience. My favorite tools are hiking GPS units.

Unfortunately we have also learned, that there are also some unreliable tools. Some of the more challenging places are areas with a lot of trees and mountains. It is still good to know that developers have been doing a fine job improving the existing technology to the point, where we can actually trust these units more.

Garmin has developed a very exact working and hence successful tool, the GPS 60SXc. A lot of folks have bought this unit and even bought it a second time, after the tool got stolen, lost or damaged. Garmin is constantly outproducing its competitors by producing state-of-the-art technology which results in some really great units.

You can read a review about the unit on my blog, and I'd recommend to have a look. To read the article, check out the resource box right below this article, to get a link to my blog.

Let me give you some information beforehand. The Garmin GPS 60SXc is a little handy tool full of big surprises. It has a high-sensitivity GPS receiver build using the famous SiRF chip technology. For those of you who don't know, SiRF is THE most important producer of GPS chips. Put simple, they rock!

It only ways 7.5 ounces, is robust as well as waterproof, and ideal for both marine and outdoor use. It has plenty of features such as an electric compass and a barometric altimeter. Two really cool tools. It also comes with a preinstalled map and a microSD card.

Of course you will get more features than these two. To get a full list of features as well as a movie, please read the full review. You will find the link to my blog in the resource box right below this article.
