Dave had received a Garmin nuvi 1490lmt GPS from his girl for Christmas because she was uninterested in him coming home so late when he became stuck on the highway in traffic. It had already made a big difference to them, now Dave had a traffic alert on his route and an alternative route supplied so he was never late home.

More functions on his Garmin GPS were similarly useful to Daves commute, like the weather alerts and the eco route feature so he could choose a route that would save on gas. Dave was excited also to find that Garmin gave free lifetime traffic and map updates. This meant that regardless of how many changes they made to the road system or to the road intersections the info on the Garmin GPS would never be outdated.

This was fantastic Dave thought. He had benefited enormously from his new GPS, thanks to the big five in. screen and clear graphics it was easy to steer through the road intersections. Even the most difficult and busy intersections were no longer an issue because upcoming lane changes were shown along with overhead highway signage so that he never missed an exit.

He could plan his travel so much better now and be assured when he made appointments that he would be there in good time. Dave was so impressed with his GPS that he took it on holiday with him when they went skiing in Canada and then it was simply indispensable he hired a car and was capable of finding his way everywhere with no issues at all.

The Garmin has a travel clock. A currency converter and a measurement converter it turned out to be the perfect travel assistant . When they felt like strolling around they utilized the Garmin GPS and just selected the pedestrian option - simply a tap on the display and they could see their exact location, address and junction as well as the nearest police station hospital and emergency services if they needed them.
